Tips to Protect Your Institution with Vector LiveSafe

  1. Send a Vector LiveSafe broadcast message to notify students and faculty about any school closures, delays, or safety advisories due to the hurricane or tropical storm. Remember you can send broadcasts via text message, email, or LiveSafe app push notification.

  2. Emphasize that while campus may be closed or classes and activities may be cancelled during storms, Vector LiveSafe is still working to keep students, faculty, and staff safe. Community members can still share reports using Tip Submit, use the Safety Map and SafeWalk, and access important resources via the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App.

  3. Use geofencing to provide targeted messages to different groups of your community based on location. If you have campuses, buildings, or other school facilities across different locations, geofencing will allow you to specifically reach users in affected areas.

  4. Evaluate current hurricane and tropical storm planning and evacuation strategies to determine if any updates are necessary in light of COVID-related operational changes. Update any hurricane and tropical storm planning and evacuation information in the “Resources'' section of the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App.
